The building is based on the principles of the circular economy and aims to offset its entire energy debt within one generation. It combines ecological, economic and health aspects in a radical style. ClayTec fulfils these high requirements for all the building materials used: the decision to use clay building materials was based on the recyclability, health-promoting properties and aesthetic ecological design of our products.
In the largest ClayTec dry construction project to date, 23,000 square metres of clay boards heavy (LEMIX) D22 and D16 are being used. The clay building boards are fully stapled to a wooden substrate and partially screwed together. The modular prefabrication was planned and realised by the renowned company Blumer Lehmann, which enabled precise and efficient implementation. Clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar as well as Glassfibre Mesh (112 g) were used in the reinforcement layer. ClayTec YOSIMA Kolumba grey was supplied for an elegant and ecological finish. The project is a prime example of how visionary buildings can be realised with a well thought-out choice of materials.
